We Adore you, O Christ, and we praise you.
Because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world.
At this point, the cross was getting heavier each step Jesus took. The soldiers realized that Jesus was struggling as He carried the cross.
The soldiers quickly pulled out of the crowd a young man named Simon to help Jesus with his cross. He was not one of Jesus' followers but he helped anyway because he was too frightened to refuse.
Simon did help Jesus with the cross. Sometimes we might believe that Simon's life was changed forever because he helped one who was weaker than himself. This is what is meant by love of God and love of all others.
PRAYER:
Dear Jesus, help me to see those who need my help. Help me to always lend a hand when asked or needed. Teach me to love all other people. Amen.
