     Sr. Maria Pia Novella Guiducci, a dedicated Sister of Our Lady of the Garden, is our enthusiastic first grade teacher. We have been blessed with her supreme service as a first grade teacher at SBS since 1982.

      Sr. Maria Pia graduated from her secondary schooling and in 1956 was awarded her higher educational degree at the Istituto Magistrale Gianelli in Rome, Italy . Sr. Maria Pia began her elementary teaching experience at the Instituto Gianelli in Rome, Italy, she taught there for 14 years. She then spent six years teaching at the Istituto Our Lady of the Garden Udine, Chiavari, and Genova, Italy. In 1972 Sister was awarded with the degree "Spiritual Theology" at the Pontificio Istituto de Spiritualita Teresianuni Rome, Italy. From 1973 to 1976 Sr. Maria Pia served as Principal at Our Lady of the Garden School Udine, Italy.

      In 1976 Sister came to the United States and in 1982 Sr. Maria Pia was awarded with a Bachelor of Science and Certificate in Education at Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven, Connecticut. Presently, she is a member of the NCEA and is also a member of the S.C.S.U. Alumni Association.

     Sr. Mary Pattasseril, a committed Sister of Our Lady of the Garden, is our assistant first grade teacher. Sr. Mary is a native of Kerala, South India. She really believes that Catholic Education continues to flourish both spiritually and academically. Her goal is to teach the students the Christian values and morals.

      Sr. Mary has been in the United States since 1988. She began working at St. Brendan's first. During her ten year stay, she taught along with directing the After School Program. She left St. Brendan's to work with pre-school children at Gianelli Early Learning Center in Middletown, Connecticut for four years. Now she enthusiastically helps, supports, assists, and imparts her knowledge to the students at St. Brendan's once again.

     Sr. Mary is a graduate of Gateway Community Technical College with an Associate of Science Degree in Early Childhood and a Bachelor of Art Degree in Psychology from Southern Connecticut State University.
